Vietnam wins high prize at Danang International Marathon 2022

More than 5,000 athletes from provinces and cities across the country and foreigners are in Vietnam to compete. The competition is one of the largest marathons in Vietnam, with the first international standard running track in Vietnam in 2013, recognized by the International Marathon Association (AIMS).

As a result, in the men’s 42 km distance, the first prize belonged to athlete Bui Van Da with a running time of 2 hours 57 minutes 9 seconds; The second prize belongs to Nguyen Huu Manh; Third prize belongs to Truong Ngoc Anh. At the women’s 42 km distance, the first prize belonged to Tran Thi Hoa with a time of 3 hours 32 minutes 42 seconds; Second prize belongs to Hoang Lan Anh; Third prize belongs to Nguyen Ngot. All the athletes who won the 42 km distance were from Vietnam.

In the men’s 21 km distance, the first prize belonged to athlete Deichmann Florian (Germany) with a time of 1 hour 22 minutes 22 seconds; The second prize belongs to Nhat Thuy Mai (Vietnam); Third prize went to Aaron Foster (UK). In the women’s 21 km distance, the first prize belonged to athlete Pham Nga (Vietnam) with a running time of 1 hour 45 minutes 42 seconds; Second prize belongs to Greenwood Sasha Jade (UK); Third prize belongs to Nguyen Trang (Vietnam).

In the men’s 10 km race, the first prize belonged to athlete Tran Dang An (Vietnam) with a running time of 35 minutes and 50 seconds; The second prize belongs to Le Minh Tuan (Vietnam); Third prize went to Sahni Ricky Ranjeet (India). In the women’s 10 km distance, the first prize belonged to athlete Nguyen Thi Duong (Vietnam) with a running time of 43 minutes 54 seconds; The second prize belongs to Phung Chuyen (Vietnam); Third prize belongs to Nguyen Hong Suong (Vietnam).

At the distance of 5 km, the Organizing Committee only awarded commemorative medals to the Top 3 athletes who finished first, second and third at this distance.

Before that, within the framework of the competition, on the afternoon of March 19, there was a competition for children athletes with a fun running contest for Children Ronny Dash 1.5 km distance with more than 200 children and their parents and children. Unite run to support children to conquer one of the first challenges in life. The adorable pictures of the children running the marathon brought a memorable and impressive moment to the audience watching the competition.

Director of the Danang Department of Culture and Sports Pham Tan Chu said that following the positive effects and strong spillovers from the Danang International Marathon competitions during the past 7 years, the 8th edition of the contest will be held in Hanoi. The competition is also proud to be recognized as having the most beautiful running track in Asia, with the number of athletes participating constantly increasing from 1,000 in 2013 to nearly 10,000 in 2019. Through 7 times of organization, the competition has attracts more than 9,000 international athletes from nearly 70 countries around the world to participate.

The Danang Manulife 2022 International Marathon has more than 5,000 participants, of which more than 65% are athletes from provinces and cities outside of Da Nang. The competition is one of the largest marathons in Vietnam.
