Southeast has an area of ​​nearly 23,600 square kilometers, nearly 18 million people (2019 statistics), including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria – Vung Tau. It is the most developed sector of the economy in the country, accounting for more than two-thirds of annual budget revenues. Due to its important role, in recent years, traffic in the region has received special attention, including many bridge projects to link production and trade between regions.

Start construction at the end of 2021, located in the east of Binh Duong province, Bach Dang Bridge 2 The total investment capital is more than 300 billion VND, considered as a “bottleneck” for traffic in Tan Uyen city and Bac Tan Uyen district which connects National Highway 1A, Long Thanh airport and Cai Mep – Thi Vai port in the fastest way.

The project and the two lanes have a total length of more than 2.8 km, of which the bridge is approximately 410 m long, 17 m wide, and has 4 lanes. The source of capital for this project is divided according to the ratio that each region pays 50% with the main bridge, the province itself invests in building roads in the area.

Bach Dang 2, when put into use, helped to connect and trade industrial zones in Tan Uyen town, Bac Tan Uyen (Binh Duong) district with Bien Hoa town, Vinh Cuu and Trang Bom (Dong Nai) district. The bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Meanwhile, on the western axis of Binh Duong, this region and Tay Ninh began construction of the route connecting two provincesYes New Boat Bridgewith a total capital of 210 billion VND, crossing the Saigon River, connecting Dau Tieng and Duong Minh Chau districts.

The length of the bridge is 330 m, the design life is 100 years; Road 500 m, design speed 80 km/h. Prior to that, Tay Ninh province started construction of a nearly 13 km long road with a total cost of 518 billion VND, connecting the bridge project. The bridge will be opened to traffic at the end of this year.

As the center of the Southeast, Ho Chi Minh City has many bridge projects connecting Binh Duong and Dong Nai, where Cat Lai Jembatan Bridge is expected to help the city’s east gate take off, connecting the districts of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach in Dong Nai province.

The Cat Lai Bridge was planned more than 20 years ago, the purpose of replacing the overloaded ferry of the same name. This project was approved by the Prime Minister 6 years ago, but so far, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai have not agreed on the location of the bridge.

The project has a cable-stayed design with two towers, 650 m long, 37 m wide, 6 lanes for cars and 3 base lanes, 1.5 m walkway on each side… with a budget of over 7,500 billion VND. After many meetings and observations, the consulting unit provides 5 bridge construction options, proposed to start construction this year.

The Cat Lai Bridge, once completed, will not only promote the development of the new urban area of ​​Nhon Trach, but also help connect areas in the South Key Economic Zone. In particular, the bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long Thanh Airport is expected to be operational by 2025.

As a province with developed industries and ports, especially with the largest deep sea ports in the country, Cai Mep – Thi Vai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, special attention is paid to connecting transport infrastructure to promote the local economy. In addition to speeding up the implementation of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau toll road, this province has also implemented an inter-port road with a highlight Phuoc An . Bridge to connect Dong Nai.

The project has a total length of more than 3.7 km, of which a 3.4 km long bridge with a 6-lane scale, 30,000 tonne vessels can run under, at a total cost of nearly 5,000 billion VND. The work is a road component project Cai Mep – Thi Vai inter-port, with a length of more than 21.3 km from the port of Cai Mep Ha (Phu My town) to the port of Phuoc An (the section through Dong Nai is 1.4 km long).

The completed bridge will connect the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port area with the Ben Luc – Long Thanh highway to the western provinces, and at the same time reduce the load on National Highway 51.

Located in the northwest of the Southeast region, Binh Phuoc province is changing its economic structure, promoting industrial development, where transportation infrastructure has always been a local concern and top priority.

Recently, Binh Phuoc province applied for a permit to the Government to build Ma Da bridge, 11 m wide, 90 m long, connects Dong Nai via the river of the same name. This work is part of an investment project to upgrade the 30 km DT753 road, with a total capital of 655 billion VND.

According to Binh Phuoc province, the Ma Da bridge helps connect the Central Highlands and Binh Phuoc province with Long Thanh international airport and Cai Mep – Thi Vai port, 60 km shorter than the current route. The project is being directed by the Prime Minister to assign the Ministry of Transportation to chair the meeting and propose the Government to decide.
