Warmly welcoming the Malaysian Prime Minister’s official visit to Vietnam, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc assessed the visit as having an important meaning to create a new impetus for the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested the two countries take advantage of free trade agreements that the two sides have joined, especially the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and promote cooperation in building a circular economy framework within the framework of the ASEAN Economic Community for mutual recovery and development.

On the basis of the great potential of cooperation between the two countries, the two sides agreed to seek new areas of cooperation, striving to further increase the two-way trade turnover; at the same time, strengthen cooperation in tourism, culture, science and technology, as well as promote people-to-people exchanges to constantly cultivate the friendship between the two countries.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated and wished that the two sides continued to support and cooperate actively at the United Nations, APEC, ASEAN and regional and international forums; together with other ASEAN countries to strengthen solidarity and promote ASEAN’s central role, join hands in building a strong and prosperous ASEAN community.

On this occasion, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc conveyed his regards and invited the King of Malaysia to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time. The Malaysian Prime Minister also respectfully conveyed the greetings and invitation of the King of Malaysia to invite President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to soon make a state visit to Malaysia.
