Expert Phridon Chkhartishvili of the Vietnamese wrestling team suddenly passed away

Coach Phridon Chkhartishvili participated in training the team’s players to prepare for the 31st SEA Games and the distant goals of the 2022 Asian Games, the Olympic qualifying round in Paris (France) 2024.

The passing of one of the coaches of many generations of Vietnamese wrestling team athletes has left a lot of grief right at the time when the players were preparing for the 31st SEA Games.

Information from a representative of the High Performance Sports Department 1 (General Department of Sports and Sports), coach Phridon Chkhartishvili is still in normal health. However, after lunch on March 19, coach Phridon felt tired and went to rest. The departure of coach Phridon Chkhartishvili is a great loss for the Vietnamese wrestling team and Vietnamese sports in general.

Mr. Phridon has been with Vietnam since 1998 and has experienced many tournaments with the national wrestling team. This precious teacher is highly appreciated by the students for his meticulousness in professional training but is very happy when leaving the practice floor to live like a real Vietnamese. In which, expert Phridon Chkhartishvili had 15 times in Vietnam to celebrate the traditional Tet.

Coach Phridon Chkhartishvili is famous for being close to his students. He once shared with the press that he does not consider himself a coach, but as a father who guides his children like his own children in activities and training, and only then can he help good athletes achieve the most successful competition results.

According to the plan, the legal procedures for coach Phridon will be worked out specifically with the management agencies and the Georgia Embassy in Vietnam in accordance with the law right next week.
