Ms. Tram started studying and working in Germany 19 years ago. After graduating from school and working, he bought his own house and started gardening. Initially, Mrs. Tram only planted trees on the balcony. About 5 years ago, his family moved to a house with a small yard, so he focused more on farming, both to increase the family’s diet and have more relaxed activities after stressful working hours.

Tram Park is located in the front yard, covering an area of 8m2. He set aside a small space for a table and swing, made a playground for the children, the remaining 6m2 for planting trees. In the garden, he built a pillar measuring 1.5m x 1.5m to plant chayote and some other climbing plants. At the edge of the garden, there is an area of about 2m2, Bu Tram planted more pumpkins to climb the fence. If there is free space in the house, Ibu Tram makes use of placing more pots to plant kale, chilies, spices,… For Vietnamese moms, greens are the same. treeAll bring beauty and greenery into the house.

German Garden Tram has many vegetables and fruits that are familiar in Vietnam.

“Because the garden is small, I focus on growing vegetables that can be eaten many times, such as herbs and spinach, because after cutting the spinach will continue to grow. The vegetables that are cut and eaten once are all gone, so I don’t plant them.”, Ms. Trams share.

Ms. The tram makes use of a small patch of land and grows all kinds of vegetables.

At the beginning of gardening, she did not have much experience, Ms. Trams face many “bad crying and laughing” situations. She says: “At first planted in pots on the balcony, the soil is little, I have no experience, but I sow vegetables. Vegetables take up a lot of space and can only be harvested and eaten once.

I sowed a lot of seeds because I was afraid they wouldn’t germinate. Then the tree grew thick. A friend teased me, the number of pots of cabbage can be planted in 1 hectare of land. Seeing the new seeds, I couldn’t bear to pull them out, just let them crammed into a small pot. Lack of development area, the tree grows but cannot grow, it is married. The whole fertilization process, finally, when the vegetables are harvested and cooked, they shrink to less than 1 cup of soup.”

Ms Tram said that her friends often teased her that she was a dairy farmer because most of her close and distant friends had been given milk by her to breed. Every year, he harvests about 200 chayote, with the fruit weighing 700g, beautiful and juicy.

The rubber frame with a width of 1.5m x 1.5m is located in the sunniest location in the house. Initially, he was given 2 chayote by an acquaintance as an experimental plant, teaching himself how to grow and learning from each plant. Usually, around February, he will plant the chayote in a pot indoors due to the cold weather in the soil. In May, when the weather was sunny and warm, he brought the plants and planted them in the garden. Before planting, he would improve the soil by buying new soil, mixing it with the old soil and some organic fertilizer.

“Sometimes about once every 3 weeks, I give a little organic fertilizer to the base of the tree. Water evenly, keeping the soil moist for the tree. Su Su has many young roots, so when planted it should be planted directly into the ground. In pots, high yields are not achieved. Planted, chayote still bears fruit, but only a few seeds, the rest of the fruit will turn yellow, wilt and fall off, it is due to lack of nutrients from the soil (because of low soil fertility).

Another important thing is that su su needs a lot of place to climb, wherever you go, to the left. So if you have a big rig, that’s also an advantage. Then I’m small, so sometimes when the shoots grow, I have to cut them, sorry, because wherever the shoots go, the fruit comes out.” Ms. Tram shares secrets of growing chayote. In addition, weather conditions also affect crop yields to some extent.

Su su wrong, Ms. Tram ate it and took it as a gift.

Every day, Bu Tram usually spends 30 minutes – 1 hour caring for the plants, watering the plants and even looking around the garden. Although the garden is not big, this helps Tram feel relaxed, the children also have more playgrounds to learn about fruit trees. Above all, since owning the garden, Ms. Tram is more active in family meals, happy to enjoy Vietnamese fruits and vegetables directly in their home country.
