Through initial investigation, the police agency determined that due to jealousy when his wife led his mistress to the motel room, Luong used a knife to kill Ms. V and Mr. P.
On the afternoon of March 21, the Tuyen Quang Public Security Agency said that it had detained the suspect Tran Van Luong (SN 1988, residing in Son Nam commune) to investigate the act of murder.

According to the police, before the incident, Ms. Tran Thi V. (SN 1987 – Luong’s wife) had Covid-19 so she went to stay in Binh Thai village to isolate, to avoid spreading the disease to her family.
But by the end of the quarantine period, Ms. V. did not return home, even though her husband and children had urged her many times. At this time, Luong knew that Mr. Tran Xuan P. (residing in Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang – Ms. V’s mistress) was with his wife, so Luong took a knife to commit the crime.
After killing his wife and her lover, Luong did not run away but stayed at the scene waiting for the authorities to arrest him.
According to a leader of Son Nam Commune People’s Committee, there was a conflict between Luong and his wife before, and both are currently separated. Before committing the crime, Luong was commented as a “gentle person, not a word”. Recently, Luong went to work far away, his wife stayed at home as a worker. V and Luong have 3 children together.
Currently, Tuyen Quang Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the murder case.
