Previously, media reported that the Boeing 737-800 of China Eastern Airlines crashed in the mountains near the city of Wuzhou (Guangxi) on the afternoon of March 21.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said there were 123 passengers and nine crew on board. The number of victims and the cause of the crash have not been released.
According to Reuters, the flight departed at 13:11 (local time) in Kunming (Yunnan province) to go to Guangzhou (Guangdong province). The plane is expected to land at 3:05 p.m.
Data from FlightRadar24 shows that flight tracking abruptly ended at 2:22 p.m. Currently the aircraft flies at a speed of almost 700 km/hour.
The plane’s altitude also dropped suddenly from 29,100 feet to 9,075 feet in just 2 minutes 15 seconds. After 20 seconds, the plane continued to descend to an altitude of 3,225 feet.

“It can be confirmed that the plane crashed,” China Eastern Airlines said in a statement. The airline has also released information on hotlines for their relatives on board.
