With a prime location next to the national defense road facing Cua Viet beach, the HP Pacifica Hotel resort project, when newly deployed, promises to be an ideal destination for many tourists from all over the world. However, in fact, the project suddenly “died prematurely” after only 3 years of implementation.

Main items of unfinished construction project

The HP Pacifica Hotel resort project of Hiep Phu Joint Stock Company was granted the second change certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Tri province in June 2016 with a total investment of 140 billion VND.

According to the plan, the project will start from the third quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2017 when it will be completed and put into operation.

The investor has spent tens of billions of dong to build the rough part of many main items of the tourist area.

Deep inside the fence line is a row of 6-storey houses that have only been built in the rough. Due to a long stop of construction, the walls are now mossy, each layer of mortar is peeling over time, bricks and stones are scattered.

Right behind the 6-storey block is a 2-storey block of unfinished construction. Many houses are built in the style of villas with a swimming pool system, unfinished gardens, and look like ruins from afar.

A leader of the Quang Tri Economic Zone Management Board said that the HP Pacifica Hotel project has been unfinished for many years due to the investor’s difficulties.

“The province also creates favorable conditions for businesses, but due to difficulties, the investor cannot continue to implement the project. On that basis, in 2020, the Provincial People’s Committee has made a decision to terminate the project and recover the land that has been granted to the enterprise”, this leader said.
