Doctors quickly made a diagnosis: the wound was severed from the penis due to being cut, and surgery was indicated.

The surgical team gave endotracheal anesthesia, checked the wound, then stitched hemostasis of the cavernous body, transformed the skin flap with a stalk, and stitched the remaining urethra. After surgery, the patient is awake, the incision is dry; continued to be monitored and cared for after surgery at the Department of General Surgery.

Talking to VietNamNet, Doctor Dinh Khac Truong said that because the severed part of the patient’s penis could not be found, doctors could not perform penis enlargement surgery.

The doctor further informed that, during the operation, the team made to shape the base of the penis and the remaining urethra with a skin flap with a stalk. Thus, after recovery, the patient can urinate. However, to be able to have sex again later on, additional surgeries are still needed.

Doctor Dinh Khac Truong said that cutting off the penis is an unusual event in medicine. At Son La Provincial General Hospital, each year only a few cases of penis amputation are received. Separation of the penis usually comes from 3 main groups of causes: self-cutting patients (due to depression, mental disorders); being cut by his wife or girlfriend (due to jealousy, emotional conflict) or by accident (work accident, traffic accident…).

Previously, according to information from the leader of the People’s Committee of Chieng Hac Commune, Yen Chau, Son La, due to family conflicts, the wife, Ms. HTN (born in 1986), used a knife to cut off the genitals of her husband named HTN. NVH Specifically, Ms. N. has a stepdaughter who is studying in grade 9. In the process of living together, Mr. H. has repeatedly acted indecently with the child. I told my mother many times, but Mr. H. did not admit it.
