Vietnam has reached an agreement with 17 countries on mutual recognition of vaccine passports

On March 21, answering reporters’ questions about Vietnam’s mutual recognition information vaccine passport With other countries, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said that as of March 17, Vietnam had reached an agreement on mutual recognition of vaccine passports with 17 countries.

Countries include USA, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Japan, Australia, Belarus, India, Cambodia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Maldives, State of Palestine, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Singapore, Saint Lucia and South Korea.

Holders of vaccine passports from these countries entering Vietnam and from Vietnam entering these countries are entitled to the same medical measures as those who have been vaccinated in their home country. This recognition includes an exemption from the consular certification/legalization procedure when using this document in the receiving country.

In addition, up to now, Vietnam is still temporarily recognizing the vaccination certificate samples of 79 countries and territories that have been officially introduced to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister, in the past time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad have been very active, actively negotiating, speeding up the process of mutual recognition of vaccine passports. -Apply with other countries/regions.

Vaccine passport is understood as a certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 or/and a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 disease. Vaccination passports are used to prove an individual’s history of vaccinations and cures, and are not a substitute for other valid entry and exit documents such as passports, visas, and valid travel documents. International travel documents, travel documents, temporary residence cards, permanent residence cards, visa exemption certificates… Foreign vaccine passports are considered valid and can be used directly in the Vietnamese territory if officially recognized. or temporarily by the Government of Vietnam.
