Why do Yonko Kaido and Yamato have horns?

Kaido and Yamato in One Piece don’t have much in common, but they both have one thing in common, which is their horns. For some reason, both Kaido and Yamato appear in One Piece with a pair of horns on its head. Not only that, many members of the Beasts Pirates also have horns. Normally humans can’t grow horns so there must be something special about these people. A simple explanation is that they both have horns on their heads because those are their decorations. However, when the two transform using the Zoan Devil Fruit, their hybrid human and beast forms clearly have horns. It should be noted that their horns may not be from the Devil Fruit that Kaido and Yamato possess.

Kaido and Yamato may not actually be humans but a completely different being called an oni. Generally, when people talk about Kaido, they refer to the character as a “strongest being in the world” but never use phrases like “a man” or “a human” to describe Kaido. about this Four Emperors. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for Kaido’s power that he is not human.

Besides the horns, there are several other hints that Kaido and Yamato might actually be oni. Their weapon of choice is the kanabo, often combined with the oni. They live on the island of Onigashima, which literally translates as “oni island.” Kaido’s dialogue in chapter 1025 stated that he is of a different kind. Although the race details of Kaido and Yamato are still unknown, all signs point to them being some kind of oni.

It is also possible that Yamato and Kaido are an undisclosed group of humans. There are many human races with non-human characteristics like the three-eyed race in One Piece. Such races have also fallen victim to slavery and worse at the hands of ordinary humans known as the Celestial Dragons.

As for the rest of the Beasts Pirates, most of them are human. Their horns are probably an accessory designed to mimic the look of their captain, who is often shown with horns. We have seen Luffy in the scene posing as a member of the Beasts crew to infiltrate Oni Island, in Luffy’s costume also has a pair of horns on his head.

Currently, the truth behind Yamato and Kaido’s horns is still a mystery. They seem to be part of the two characters’ bodies and Yamato most likely inherited this gene from his father.
