Donating ‘Bordern Shelter’ to poor women members in An Giang border area

On the morning of March 22, the Border Guard Command and the Women’s Union of An Giang province, Tan Thang Construction Investment Company (Long Xuyen city) held a house handover ceremony “Border Shelter” in coordination with with the local government to organize the handover of the “Border Shelter” house to poor women’s members in the border areas.

The family of the member who was given the house is Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, a member of the Women’s Union of Vinh Quoi hamlet, Lac Quoi commune, Tri Ton district. Mrs. Huong’s family has a particularly difficult situation, used to live in a makeshift bamboo thatched house, which has decayed.

The house is built on a 4-level house scale, with a corrugated iron roof structure, reinforced concrete walls, ceramic tiled floor, about 50m2 wide. Total construction cost is 95 million dong, of which Tan Thang Construction Investment Company supports 50 million dong, the family accumulates another 45 million dong to complete the construction.

Officers and soldiers of Lac Quoi Border Guard Station supported 28 working days in transporting materials and building houses. The house was completed after more than 1 month of construction.

This is an activity to successfully celebrate the 13th National Congress of Women’s Deputies for the 2022-2027 term, and at the same time respond to the program “Accompanying border women” in 2022.

Practical and meaningful activities, showing the spirit of sharing with members of women in difficult circumstances at the border; and at the same time, encourage women’s families to strive to overcome difficulties and rise up in life, together with local authorities to carry out socio-economic development tasks, contribute to the construction of and firmly protect national border security sovereignty.
