Eating too much meat can cause serious health problems in men

Explaining this, the study’s author, nutritionist Joseph Whittaker, said that a diet with more than 35% of calories from protein can cause protein poisoning. This happens when the body breaks down too much protein, leading to high levels of ammonia and turning it into toxins. As a result, the body stops producing the hormone, as well as testosterone, while focusing on fighting the protein poisoning.

This study doesn’t mean we should give up eating meat entirely, though. Consuming an appropriate amount of protein will help strengthen muscles and feel full for a longer time.
