Eating too much meat can cause serious health problems in men
A recent study published in the academic journal Nutrition and Health found that eating too much meat or too much protein can have a negative effect on men’s testosterone and cortisol.
This study drew on data from a comparison between two groups of adult male volunteers who were fed two opposing diets, a high-protein diet (high in meat) and a high-carbohydrate diet (high in vegetables and fruits). , cereals,…). The results showed that those who followed the high-protein diet had significantly decreased testosterone levels.

Explaining this, the study’s author, nutritionist Joseph Whittaker, said that a diet with more than 35% of calories from protein can cause protein poisoning. This happens when the body breaks down too much protein, leading to high levels of ammonia and turning it into toxins. As a result, the body stops producing the hormone, as well as testosterone, while focusing on fighting the protein poisoning.
This study doesn’t mean we should give up eating meat entirely, though. Consuming an appropriate amount of protein will help strengthen muscles and feel full for a longer time. In addition, a low-carb (low-carbohydrate) diet has also been shown to be an effective method of weight loss, establishing a healthy diet.
