I have to beg to see you!

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong (permanent resident in Phu Thuan ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) reflected in Vietnam Consumer Newspaper, do you buy? life insurance at Life Insurance Company Dai-ichi Life Vietnam (Dai-ichi) since 2017.

On November 29, 2021, she suddenly received a call from Dai-ichi’s customer service staff informing her that she had paid 100 million dong of the refund value of the insurance policy. Money was transferred to a personal account named Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong at Bao Viet bank.

However, she did not sign any documents to withdraw money from the contract, nor did she open an account at Bao Viet bank.

A day later, she made a complaint to Dai-ichi, but nearly 3 months later, Phuong received a reply from the company. However, the letter states, “Unfortunately, there is no legal basis to process your request to cancel the advance transaction from the Refund Value of the contract on July 8, 2021”.

Many times after that, she asked to work directly with the responsible person of the insurance company, but never met anyone. On the afternoon of March 9, 2022, Ms. Phuong went to Dai-ichi’s headquarters at 151 Nguyen Van Troi, Phu Nhuan district, Ho Chi Minh City, but the receptionist said that because she came suddenly, there was no leader to receive.

Ms. Phuong angrily expressed on Tuoi Tre Online: “I am a customer of Dai-ichi, I was arbitrarily forged by the financial advisor of this company and withdrawn money, seriously affecting my rights. their legitimate interests, the company must be responsible to me, cannot leave me like that.

(…) Hundreds of millions of money disappeared, the company should have taken the initiative to meet with me to show goodwill to resolve, but I had to beg to meet. I feel hurt, insulted.”

According to Tuoi Tre Online, on March 21, Phuong and her husband went to Dai-ichi’s headquarters to work.

She shared, when she went to Bao Viet Bank, she was informed by the bank, the provider opened an account in the name of Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong, Mr. Phan Tran Duy Hoa (insurance agent of Dai-ichi Life). The phone number registered to perform transactions is not yours.

According to Tuoi Tre, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam said that it had checked the signatures on the withdrawal documents with the visual records and found it appropriate. But when PV asked if it was 100% confirmed that it was the customer’s signature, the company representative replied “not 100% correct”.

Dai-ichi Life Vietnam said that it will perform an assessment of the signature on the “Request for payment of insurance benefits”, and will pay for this assessment fee, which Ms. Phuong has to pay. If the authorities conclude that the signature on the withdrawal documents is not Ms. Phuong’s, the company will ensure the interests of customers.
