“Can’t go, can’t stay, is a situation where many families for 2-3 generations have had to live in cramped quarters over the years in a narrow, degraded level 4 house, but they are not allowed to renovate or expand their residence. this Hai An area. Children who get married, get married and want to go out to build a new house, it is also not possible. Most of the land, ponds and lakes developed for agricultural production and aquaculture in the past have been abandoned for many years. Because of planning problems, no one dares to take risks to invest,” said Mr. Thanh.

Head of Quang Tri Economic Zone Management Board Pham Ngoc Minh said that in 2021 and from the beginning of 2022 until now, the unit as well as departments, branches and the Provincial People’s Committee have invited investors to work and encourage many times. Research by PV Tien Phong shows that in 2015, the Prime Minister approved the establishment of the Southeast Economic Zone in Quang Tri province. This is considered the largest economic zone in this province with an area of ​​​​nearly 24,000 hectares, including 17 coastal communes in 3 districts of Hai Lang, Trieu Phong and Gio Linh.

Right after the decision on approval of the planning area and location is issued, people here are not allowed to renovate, expand or build new civil works; The land areas for development of agricultural – forestry – fishery production after inspection and statistics, if long-term investment (construction of barns, ponds and lakes…) will not be compensated when the site is recovered and cleared…

For the construction project of My Thuy port area, after many times inviting and selecting investors, the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province approved for My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Joint Stock Company to invest in this project. The project scale is 685 ha, including 10 berths and is invested in 3 phases. In which, phase 1 from 2018 to 2025 invests in 4 berths with a total investment of 14,234 billion VND, of which phase 1 needs to invest 4,946 billion VND.

Worth mentioning, the construction of this large-capital project, over the years, seems to be just the intentions and aspirations on … paper of investors.
