March 17, MOT approved the results of the selection exam for the architectural design plan of the project to upgrade the Duong river waterway (Duong railway bridge).
The contest organizers selected excellent design options, including 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 1 third prize for Duong bridge.
“Destiny” is the winning design. This design is made by the Joint Venture of the Large Bridge – Tunnel Design Consultancy Joint Stock Company and the Transport Construction and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company.
The second prize is the design of Hanoi – Cua O, also made by the owner of the first prize. Third prize belongs to Hung Phu Trading and Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company.
The Ministry of Transport assigned the Project Management Board 6 to organize the implementation of the next steps in compliance with the law on construction and other relevant regulations.

It is expected that the new road Duong bridge is expected to be built 100 m downstream from the existing bridge, serving road traffic as planned.
The old Duong bridge will also be rebuilt to serve railway traffic, removing beams and abutment dams to ensure smooth waterway traffic. The bridge will be raised to about 2.75 m at the top of the rail to ensure navigation.
It is expected that the total investment of the new road road bridge is 1,793 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is 776 billion VND, construction cost is 680 billion VND, the rest is project management cost. The project is expected to be implemented from now to 2025.
