Who did the girl meet on the last night?

The love of the girl and the construction officer

At the end of December 2004, a group of workers from Road Construction Company 479, during the groundbreaking ceremony to prepare to build a project, discovered a dry skeleton next to the fence.

After determining the identity of the skeleton found in a flower blanket at the construction site of Enterprise 572, it belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (SN 1968, living in neighborhood 9, Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city, Nghe An) has been missing since 1990, the police agency continues to investigate to clarify the cause of the victim’s death whether it is a homicide or not.

To clarify the cause of the incident, the police began to look for clues and clarify the relationship of Ms. Hien to see if the victim had any conflicts or hatred with anyone.

The old factory 572 is located in hamlet 9, Nghi Phu commune (Vinh city), close to the victim’s house Hien.

The police also collected information from relatives and neighbors to determine where on that night of disappearance, Ms. Hien went and met whom. What happened 14 years ago made the 20-year-old girl now just a poorly buried dry skeleton.

The first clue erected by the police was the location of the land where the skeleton was found, previously belonging to the 572 Construction Enterprise. Information from the family also said that in those years, Hien knew and loved the man. Thuan’s name is an officer of the administrative and finance department of this enterprise.

Hien’s house has 11 brothers and sisters and is only a few tens of meters from Enterprise 572. Sometimes this man named Thuan also comes to the house to play and Ms. Hien also visits the factory many times to talk to her lover.

The last time before Hien disappeared, the family only knew that that night Hien went to see her lover. So, after Ms. Hien disappeared, the family came to see Mr. Thuan to ask questions. However, Thuan said that Hien did come that night, but after a while, he returned. Where Hien went after that, Thuan did not know.

The old 572 factory land is now abandoned.

In the following days, Thuan expressed concern about Hien’s disappearance and kept coming to the house to inquire. But in fact, Thuan wanted to inquire about whether Hien’s family suspected Thuan or not.

A few days later, Thuan continued to go to Hien’s house and told her family that the night before Hien went missing, she came to visit and stole Thuan’s gold coins. Hearing that, the family could only sigh in silence.

The family also said that many days before her disappearance, everyone saw that Hien had a sad mind. Maybe Hien is sad because of her love affair with a man named Thuan.

From the information provided by the younger brother, the police focused on finding out about the man named Thuan to further clarify the relationship and possible conflicts between the two.

However, Enterprise 572 was dissolved more than 10 years ago, officials and workers have also moved to other companies or moved back to their hometown, so Thuan’s identity is even more obscure.

The location of the skeleton was discovered right next to the fence of the old 572 factory.

After many days of searching for information, the police also identified Thuan as Ngo Xuan Thuan (SN 1960, hometown in Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province). Thuan is working as a construction worker in the northern highland provinces and lives in Hanoi.

A working group was immediately sent to Hanoi to coordinate with the local police to investigate. When they arrived at the house, the police found Thuan inside. Although it was previously reported that Thuan was working in the highland provinces, it would take a few days to return.

Working with the police, Thuan said that a few days ago, he was working at the construction site when suddenly his mind was dizzy and hurt like a hammer. Unable to work, Thuan took a break to return to Hanoi to see a doctor. Thuan had just returned home when the police came to find him.

Coincidentally, on the day Thuan had a headache, in Nghe An, a group of workers discovered Hien’s skeleton hidden in a flower blanket in an empty lot.

Thuan was then invited to the Nghe An Provincial Police to work together and clarify related to Ms. Hien’s death.

Paying the price for crimes with days of living in torment of conscience

In the first days of working with the police, Thuan did not confess anything about the case. It was not until the 2nd and 3rd days of struggle that Thuan confessed that Hien’s death was related to her.

Thuan said he was in love before and Hien talked about getting married. However, Thuan refused because it had not been considered.

One night in April 1990, Ms. Hien went to Thuan’s camp to talk, and the two had a conflict. While struggling and pushing, Ms. Hien fell and hit her head on the wooden plank used to make a bed. At this time, Thuan left. After a while, she still found Hien lying motionless, so she went to check and found that Hien was no longer breathing.

Too scared, Thuan immediately took a flower blanket to wrap Hien’s body, then dragged it to an empty lot near the fence of the office and then dug the ground to bury it.

During the time working at the factory, Thuan was always haunted by Hien’s death, so his spirit was broken. Not long after, Thuan also asked to move to Hanoi to work and live and then moved to another company to work.

From Thuan’s testimony, the police reconstructed the scene and determined that this statement completely coincides with the injury on the victim’s skull.

A few months after finishing the investigation, Nghe An Provincial Police did not prosecute the case because the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution had expired. The police force forced Ngo Xuan Thuan to pay civil compensation to the family of the victim Hien.

The fact that Hien girl went missing and returned only a skeleton is still mentioned by many people in Nghi Phu commune

The police verified that there was enough evidence of Ms. Hien’s death caused by Thuan. However, it is not possible to prove that Thuan is guilty of murder, but only intentionally causing injury leading to fatal consequences.

However, at the time when the skeleton was discovered and the case was investigated, the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution had expired, so the police did not prosecute the case.“, a former officer of the Criminal Technical Division of Nghe An Provincial Police shared.

It is known that after causing the death of her lover, Thuan was always tormented with conscience, living in unstable thoughts and always worrying. In the early years of the case, Thuan also often went to temples to worship. Maybe that’s the way that Thuan reassures himself as well as repents before the dead girl’s soul.

The story of Ms. Hien’s disappearance is expected to sink into everyone’s oblivion with rumors surrounding the incident. However, 14 years later, when the remains were found by a group of workers, the whole truth about Ms. Hien’s disappearance came to light.
