According to BleepingComputer, Microsoft has just leaked 37GB of source code related to hundreds of projects, including Bing and Cortana.
The leaked data is said to have originated from Microsoft’s Azure DevOps server, including the source code of a series of internal and high-profile projects related to Bing search engine, Cortana virtual assistant, etc. Looks like this source code is only relevant for mobile apps, not Windows or Microsoft Office.
Security researchers say that the 37GB of data disclosed by the Lapsus$ hacker group also includes emails and documents intended for Microsoft engineers.
Microsoft said the company is aware of the incident and is actively investigating the alleged data leaks.
This is the latest and major data leak carried out by the Lapsus$ hacker group, which is already quite famous for its intrusions and data collection by technology companies. Before that, this group also claimed responsibility for leaking nearly 190 GB of data of Samsungas well as other attacks targeting Mercado Libre, Nvidia, Ubisoft, and Vodafone.
