Chinese Foreign Minister prepares to visit India

This is the highest-level visit by a Chinese official to India since the border dispute broke out between the two countries in 2020.
It is not clear whether Mr. Wang will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during this visit.
Border tensions between India and China escalated again in early May 2020 in the context of the two sides adding thousands of troops and heavy weapons at the border.
For more than 80 years, the two countries have always been at odds over the nearly 3,500-kilometer border along the Himalayas, and clashes often occur over overlapping claims.
More than 20 rounds of negotiations have not been able to bring the two most populous countries in the world to a consensus on the border issue.
