At the phone conversation, Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his delight at the continued positive development of the Vietnam-Canada Comprehensive Partnership. For her part, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly affirmed that Canada attaches importance to its relationship with Vietnam in implementing its foreign policy in the region; Thank you for the cooperation and active support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam in recent years, contributing to strengthening the two countries’ relations.

Minister Melanie Joly also pledged to work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to develop and implement practical measures towards the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the relationship. The two ministers also exchanged views on international and regional situations.
