Gas station sued for… selling too cheap

The above story takes place in Waukesha, Wisconsin when a gas station belonging to a food market chain called Woodman’s Food Market with a long history of more than 100 years fell into a “bad cry and laugh” situation.

As we all know, the recent increase in gas prices for many reasons has made many consumers wince. However, Woodman’s was sued neither for the above reasons nor from the users, instead they were sued by competitors for dumping.

According to WISN 12, gas stations from BP and Shell near the above gas station location are suing for $80,000 each, and asserting that state law does not allow business units to dumping (price goods lower cost).

The strange story is true: The gas station was sued because it sold too cheaply - Photo 1.

Checking the data collected previously, the price of gas at Woodman’s is $3.59/gallon while other competitors sell for an average of $3.75 to $3.99/gallon. With the above price list for filling up a Ford Explorer, gas buyers at the sued gas station can save $7.50 – a pretty decent number.

It is worth mentioning that the price of gas at Woodman’s, according to references from some gas stations not too far away (not counting the number of gas stations suing them), is not much different. However, the price above is significantly lower than the average amount Americans are paying for a gallon of gas of $4.31.

The very significant difference above also makes many users surprised when wondering how the above gas stations can sell fuel at a price so different from large corporations like Shell, although it is difficult for anyone to Answer the above question…
