According to Scholz, the sanctions against Russia related to Moscow’s special military operation in Ukraine have had a heavy impact on the German people, not only because of high fuel prices.

The head of the German government said that if energy supplies from Russia were removed, “Hundreds of thousands of jobs will be at risk, entire industries will be on the brink,” and that would push Germany and the whole of Europe into a recession.

Regarding Russia’s fuel supply to European countries, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on March 23 that the government of this country does not support any sanctions targeting Russia’s energy sector because this would threaten Hungary’s energy security.
