Hospitalization of critically ill patients has decreased

BSCKII Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Thanh Nhan Hospital, informed that in recent days, severe F0 hospitalizations have decreased significantly. The hospital only has nearly 100 inpatients. Number of patients who died due to COVID-19 also decreased sharply, an average of 1 case/day.

Due to the decrease in F0 admission, the hospital has narrowed the treatment area. Here, there are only 2 recovery areas and 1 area for average patients. Previously, the hospital had 3-4 recovery areas for COVID-19 patients.

Dr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Director of Duc Giang General Hospital also informed that the hospital still has about 150 F0 patients being treated, equal to 30% of the peak period. On average, the hospital only receives 10 cases a day. Besides the number of F0 hospital admissions fell sharply, the number of deaths also decreased. Last week, the hospital recorded more than 10 deaths from COVID-19, much lower than at its peak (up to more than 40 cases/week).

At its peak, the hospital prepared 7 floors to treat COVID-19 patients but now has 2 floors, only 5 floors for treatment.

At Ha Dong General Hospital, the number of F0 hospitalizations decreased by more than half compared to the peak. “The hospital was assigned 400 beds to treat COVID-19 patients by the Hanoi Department of Health, including 200 2nd bunk beds and 200 3rd bunk beds. At its peak, the hospital received up to 450 people, but now about 160 patients.”, BSCKII Le Hoang Tu, deputy director of the hospital, said. For three days now, the hospital has not recorded any deaths. In the last two days, the hospital also did not have any F0 cases with invasive mechanical ventilation.

According to hospital leaders, most of the seriously ill patients are elderly, have underlying diseases, and have not been vaccinated.

At the recent meeting of the City’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha confirmed that the number of hospitalized cases is on a decreasing trend. The proportion of critically ill patients and patients transferred to floors also tended to decrease.

Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung assessed that in the past few days, the number of COVID-19 cases is still high, but the trend is decreasing, the rate of F0 patients being hospitalized is low, and the number of deaths is decreasing. That shows that the city has controlled the epidemic situation. The city has reviewed, consolidated and supplemented teams to monitor and support people infected with COVID-19 at home and community COVID-19 teams with nearly 120,000 participants.

As of 5:00 p.m. on March 21, according to data from the Treatment Subcommittee – National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Hanoi recorded an additional 17,916 cases of COVID-19, a decrease of 1,149 cases compared to the previous day. .

The city currently has 318,841 F0 cases being monitored and treated. Of which 315,833 cases are being monitored and treated at home; 260 cases are being monitored and treated in isolation areas; 2,748 cases are being treated at 11 hospitals.

Of the F0 cases being treated at the hospital, 475 require oxygen. Compared to the average of the previous 7 days, the number of new cases decreased by 0.27%, the number of recovered cases decreased by 0.21%, the number of deaths decreased by 0.1%, the number of cases under treatment decreased by 0.25%, the number of cases decreased by 0.25%. weight decreased by 0.23%.
