These are new subjects, there are no teachers at the school, so it will be very difficult. Moreover, there are no faculty in teacher training schools for new subjects in pedagogical schools.

“This school year, schools have not yet recruited teachers for these subjects. In fact, schools should have teachers in these subjects first to establish themselves as leaders. For subjects like Art, the price of a teacher contract will be very high. The reason is that people who do art don’t want to go to high school to teach,” said Mr. Phu.

According to Mr. Phu, in 2022, the new general education program will be applied for high school. The textbooks should have been released 2-3 years in advance for the schools to research, but only recently have the books been released.

The leader of a Department of Education and Training in the South was quite confused when asked if there was any solution to teachers for new subjects and redundant teachers because subjects were not selected.

“The content of local education at the primary level will be taught by the homeroom teacher, but at the high school level, it is not clear how to teach it. We are looking forward to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training. We also don’t have any plans for redundant teachers if that subject is not chosen by students,” he said.
