NATO country opposes Russian oil and gas sanctions, Ukraine questions the real “engine”

RT station (Russia) reported, after Hungary’s Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, said Budapest was unable to support sanctions targeting Russian gas and oil due to concerns that its financial interests were harmed, vice Prime Minister Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk published a lengthy article questioning Hungary’s “motives”.

Accordingly, Ms. Vereshchuk denounced Hungary as “pro-Russian”, and said it is possible that the desire for “cheap Russian gas” or even the desire to occupy territory could be the driving force behind Hungary’s policy in the region. military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine listed a series of moves that show Hungary’s position: not supporting sanctions against Russia, refusing to supply weapons to Ukraine and even “not allowing weapons from other countries”. passing through their territory” to Ukraine.

“They say ‘no’ to everything. Just a little bit more and they will become completely pro-Russian. What is this? Do they want cheap Russian gas? Or do they want our Transcarpathia?” – Ms. Vereshchuk reminds Hungary “not to repeat the mistakes of World War II” when making the wrong choice.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto made it clear that sanctions against Russia risk damaging its interests, including sanctions on Russian gas and oil.

Mr. Szijjarto also reaffirmed that Hungary opposes any proposal regarding the sending of troops NATO to Ukraine or to establish a no-fly zone in that country, fearing that such actions would increase the risk of a larger-scale war.

Although the government of Hungary, a country in the US-led NATO military alliance, has condemned what Russia calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine and favors some sanctions, it has consistently defended its desire to “stay out” of the conflict and refuse to participate in providing arms support to Ukraine and other countries.
