Recently, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee is surveying to expand Red River cleaning projects in the area of ​​2 wards Phuc Tan and Chuong Duong. In particular, the goal is to develop the middle and red riverbanks into cultural and tourist parks of the capital.

In addition, it will embellish green spaces, landscapes and water surfaces, solve the problem of encroaching on the middle ground, alluvial ground along the Red River, violating construction order, and improve environmental sanitation.

The middle and alluvial areas along the Red River in Hoan Kiem district belong to Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards. In particular, the middle beach area has an area of ​​​​about 23 hectares, located mainly in Phuc Tan ward, a part of about 1 hectares in the territory of Long Bien district, where households grow food and perennial crops.

The riverside alluvial area in Phuc Tan ward has an area of ​​11.2ha, cultivated by households, growing vegetables, crops, and raising livestock; the area in Chuong Duong ward has an area of ​​4.12 ha managed and used by organizations and individuals.

At the meeting between the Standing Committees of Hoan Kiem and Long Bien District Party Committees, the parties heard representatives of the two districts report on the management, use and development plan of the Red River bank in the area; focus on discussing specific issues, thereby making a project to research and develop the middle and alluvial banks of the Red River into a cultural and tourist park.

According to the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District, the development of the area in the middle of the Red River in the district is aimed at concretizing the orientation of the Hanoi Capital Construction Master Plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050.

In which, the district will effectively exploit the land fund and potential advantages and natural beauty of the Red River; invest in renovating the middle beach and riverside alluvial plains into a cultural and tourist park, orienting to take the Red River as the landscape axis, creating an open, green space with civilized and modern urban infrastructure, making entertainment destination, tourist attractions attract domestic and foreign tourists.

The middle and alluvial areas along the Red River in Hoan Kiem district are in Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards. This area is not fixed, depends on the water season of each year, and is adjacent to 3 districts: Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung and Long Bien.

Also according to Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, in addition to tightening land management in the area in the middle of the Red River, the district has mobilized the public to join hands to protect the environment and clean up the Red River.

The riverside alluvial area will organize green park space functional areas (basically retaining existing large trees), functional areas for planting short-term trees, ornamental plants, seasonal flowers, combined with restoring tourist service.

Natural trees grow densely, along the big Red River, so the idea of ​​​​turning this place into a green natural park is very attractive.

Hoan Kiem District plans to plan the internal traffic network, the promenade of the middle beach and the Red River bank in the direction of environmentally friendly design, using traditional materials, and reorganizing the existing river beach. clean, beautiful, attractive to tourists.
