Thai Nguyen province has 51 ethnic groups living together, of which nearly 30% are ethnic minorities. After 4 years of implementation, the province has used the local budget, mobilized businesses to donate 117 billion VND to support breeds, fertilizers, buy breeding cows for the people; invest in hardening roads from hamlets and villages with a large number of Mong people connected to the main road. The program to bring electricity to villages and hamlets after nearly two years of implementation has helped all hamlets and villages have electricity, 99.67% of rural households in the province have access to electricity from the national grid…

By the end of the period 2013 – 2020, the whole province of Thai Nguyen has 12 communes out of the area of ​​special difficulties; in 2019, there were 19/63 communes and 75/94 hamlets with special difficulties to complete the target of Program 135 (the province ranked first in the country); In the 2016-2020 period, Thai Nguyen removed 76/76 hamlets that lacked electricity, “white electricity” the national grid…

Not only focusing on economic development, the province also focuses on investing in the development of education and health care, creating conditions for ethnic minorities to access public services; promptly adopt specific policies for investment in ethnic minority areas such as socio-economic development projects, stabilizing production and living conditions in hamlets and villages with many H’Mong ethnic people, with capital invested more than 100 billion VND to build roads, supply electricity, water supply, support production, animal husbandry, fruit trees…

A typical example of success can be mentioned in Ban Ten, Van Lang commune, Dong Hy district. This is one of the villages benefiting from the project “Economic and social development, stabilizing production and life in extremely difficult villages and hamlets with many Mong ethnic people living” of the project. Mr. Duong Van Minh – Secretary of Ban Ten Branch – said, with nearly 150 households of the Mong ethnic group, Ban Ten used to be one of the most difficult villages in Thai Nguyen province, nearly 100% of the households were poor.

Thanks to the province’s investment in schools, pulling electricity from the national grid to each household; supporting the restructuring of plant and animal breeds, so far, all 15 hamlets and villages in Ban Ten have been invested with concrete roads, with a total length of more than 42 km, 16 classrooms, 7 cultural houses , 3 concentrated domestic water works. All hamlets and villages have electricity from the national grid with a total investment of more than 100 billion VND.

Narrowing the gap between rich and poor
