The 4-seater car ran on Highway 49C in the north-south direction, rushed to the left of Bo Ban bridge before plunging into the river about 4m deep.

Local people said that at around 1:30 am on March 23, they suddenly heard a loud noise like a car hitting the bridge and then plunging into the river by the Bo Ban bridge. The area where the car crashed was about 4m deep, the incident was immediately reported to the authorities and local functional forces.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police dispatched officers and soldiers with specialized vehicles to the scene to organize the search.

In low light conditions at night, the river water is cloudy, making search and rescue work difficult.

At about 4:52 a.m. on the same day, the rescue force found and lifted the victim’s body and the accident car out of the river bed, handing it over to the authorities for further investigation and clarification according to regulations. .

Bo Ban Bridge has been built for a long time, the two ends of the bridge have also been installed with a system of signs and prohibited vehicles with a load of over 13 tons from crossing this weak bridge.

Information from local people and traces at the scene showed that the 4-seat car crashed on Highway 49C in the north-south direction (Cua Viet – Quang Tri town), suddenly rushed over the left side of the bridge.

This vehicle hit the concrete railings on the left side of the bridge and continued to run for a distance before plunging into the river in the direction of traffic.

The victim in a 4-seater car that crashed and died was identified as NHBT (SN 1985, residing in Thanh Liem, Trieu Do commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province), the driver and the only person on the road. car accident. The location of the accident car was a few kilometers from the victim’s house.

According to some locals, the accident that happened at this time was highly likely due to the drowsiness of the driver and possibly the high water pressure that prevented the driver from kicking the exit door when the car fell into the river.

The crashed car was brought up from the river bed, then the traffic rescue vehicle was carried to the police headquarters of Trieu Phong district.

After receiving the news, the rescue force had to return from Dong Ha with a long distance.

Currently, the victim’s body has been handed over to his family to take care of the aftermath. The accident car was also transported by a traffic rescue crane to the police headquarters of Trieu Phong district.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by authorities.
