If you play this sport scientifically, regularly and in moderation, it will also help prevent and actively support the treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases such as blood pressure, chronic bronchial asthma, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and disorders. dyslipidemia, diabetes…

Golfers have an environment to exchange, coordinate and link to organize socio-economic activities, promoting each other’s potentials and strengths”, Assoc.Prof.TS.BS. Vo Tuong Kha shared.

Who shouldn’t play?

So the question is, can anyone play golf? And what should players pay attention to to avoid unfortunate accidents that may occur during practice and competition?

Answering this question, PGS.TS.BS. Vo Tuong Kha said that this sport can be played by anyone, regardless of age or gender. However, some people have health problems such as: People suffering from acute medical and surgical diseases; People with acute musculoskeletal system problems, or damage – severe muscle – bone – joint degeneration; People with spinal disc problems… should not play golf.

Explaining this, the Director of Sports Hospital said that because golfers have to walk a lot, then the musculoskeletal system will have to bear the whole weight of the body, requiring great endurance. Therefore, people who have musculoskeletal – joint diseases, acute diseases easily lead to more severe injuries and damaged joints and discs.

In addition, experts also note, some diseases can arise during golfing such as heatstroke, heatstroke, inflammation-burning skin caused by UV rays, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, loss (disorder) ) water-electrolyte, muscle-bone-joint injury (wrist, elbow, shoulder, spine-lumbar disc, pectoral rib, ankle joint)

To play golf safely, Assoc.TS.BS. Vo Tuong Kha also recommends that players need to pay attention to practice hygiene to avoid injury.

Specifically: Players need to monitor and check their health (medical condition, physical condition) before starting to play golf and before each golf game; Check exercise equipment (size, weight and technical factors) to see if it is suitable for health conditions (physical morphology, body fitness); Supporting and protective tools such as gloves, clothes, hats, etc. must be suitable for the environment, seasonal climate, and weather.

Players also need to have insurance equipment in places prone to injuries such as wrists, elbows, lumbar areas, knees, ankles…

In particular, it is necessary to check and pay attention to the conditions of the yard and the weather to avoid slipping and falling while playing.
