People who pass by here often stop to take a look at the appearance and admire the scenery, but few realize it is actually a house. Would you dare challenge yourself to live in a house that is a giant mirror?

A house on Richmond Road, London, England looks like a giant mirror. Passers-by often stop to look in the mirror but rarely realize it’s actually a house. Therefore, people often call this ‘invisible house’.

The unnamed family lives in the house full-time. It used to be a place for passenger cars but then redesigned by architect Alex Haw in 2015. The family moved in there full-time at the end of 2019.

The front of the house is on the busy A316 near the Richmond Circus and just off the Richmond tube station, while the back is on 21st Johns.

One Reddit user wrote of the house: “I was trying to figure out if I could take a selfie in the mirror and didn’t know if the people living inside saw me doing it?”

The owner of the house revealed that their house is a one-way mirror, so passersby cannot see into the house but people inside can see out.

The truth is that people living in the house have seen people trying to fix their hair, put on lipstick, take selfies in the mirror as they pass by the house. Of course, they do not feel uncomfortable and consider it a pleasant pleasure.

A family member shared: “Designer Alex Haw came up with the idea of a giant mirror. The mirror will help the house have the ability to ‘talk to the environment’. You see there are a lot of trees. trees, roads, clouds reflecting on our house. We really liked this creative idea and agreed to follow it.”

The house itself was popular with local Richmond residents, but after pictures of it were shared on social media, it became even more known.

While some netizens praised the house design idea as unique and creative, others found it odd.

“I have lived in this district for 10 years and passed the house many times but to be honest I never realized it was an inhabited house”, “I love this house, great creative idea” , “The owner must have worked very hard because he always keeps the mirror clean. When the bird flies over it will drop waste on the mirror” … netizens commented.
