Foreign NGO work has achieved many encouraging results

On the afternoon of March 23, 2022, the Working Committee on Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (Committee) held an online conference on foreign NGO work in 2021. Assessing the activities of NGOs in the past year, Deputy Minister To Anh Dung said that although in 2021 Vietnam and world Although facing many difficulties, the Working Committee on Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations, its standing body, and agencies in the committee mechanism have proactively and flexibly innovated the methods of compliance. In the past year, the world situation has faced many difficulties, especially in Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam due to the epidemic. Covid-19 continues to spread, the number of infected people and deaths is many times higher than in 2020, is the strongest impact factor. The activities of NGOs in Vietnam face many difficulties, especially in budget mobilization, inbound/outbound delegations, and field activities.

However, the value of FNG aid disbursed to Vietnam in 2021 has reached more than 232.99 million USD, an increase of more than 5% compared to 2020 (equivalent to 12.28 million USD), of which the source continues to be recognized. supporting Vietnam in implementing Covid-19 prevention and control with goods, necessities, cash and technical assistance projects worth more than 10.6 million USD. The disbursement rate of FNG aid is more than 73% of the total committed value of the year, better than the figure of 71% in 2020, showing more initiative and adaptability in the process of operation and development. implementing projects of NGOs before the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, and at the same time demonstrating the results of the support, connection and coordination work of agencies, ministries, branches and localities.

At the Conference, the delegates shared information about the world, regional and domestic situation that directly affects FNG work in Vietnam and the results achieved in 2021. grasp the advantages and disadvantages and set out a direction to effectively deploy the work in 2022.
