Google search index drops, the craze for NFT and Metaverse games is coming to a “retreat”

Going back in time to exactly this time a year ago, terms like NFT . game, Metaverse or even blockchain is still something relatively unknown to all of us. However, over time, especially with the landmark explosion called Axie Infinity, all had to take a different look. Being valued at up to $ 3 billion, accompanied by a Play to Earn trend so popular that many people “changed their lives” thanks to Axie Infinity really changed everything. The wave of searching for information, playing with or even “plowing” Axie has truly changed the gaming industry around the world.

At that time, the fever of NFT games in Vietnam as well as many other places was still not really big. In other words, it seems to be the stage where new gamers begin to “find out”, learn the most basic concepts about NFT, Blockchain and later Metaverse. The peak of this trend may be in the last months of 2021, when new NFT game projects appear like mushrooms after the rain. The number of searches for these keywords on Google increased even more dramatically after Facebook changed its name and introduced its Metaverse project. However, recently, things have been completely opposite, when the search volume for the above keywords has dropped dramatically in 2022.

Indeed, after a somewhat “hot” fever at the end of the past year, things are still not really different. In terms of Metavese field, not too many projects have made their mark and although we know it is the technology of the future, this future is probably much farther than we expected. As for NFT game projects, things have become even more difficult after many cases of scams and chickens were named in the past, losing the trust of gamers.

In general, the fact that the world “cools down” with NFT, Metaverse or Blockchain games can be considered a good signal at the moment. After all, even though it is the technology of the future, there is still a long way to go for these terms to really prove their weight, effectiveness, and applicability.
