According to the decision of cassation, the house-land area at 129 Pasteur Street is an external guest house managed and used by the Ministry of Public Security.
After the competent authority agreed on the policy, the Prime Minister accepted the plan to sell the property at 129 Pasteur Street to Nova 79 Company for 294 billion VND.
After that, Nova 79 Company transferred the above property to Peak View Company for 300 billion VND. In 2016, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a certificate of property ownership to Peak View Company.
Previously, the court accused Phan Van Anh Vu of abusing his position and power while performing his official duties for the purpose of receiving 7 public housing estates without going through an auction; including property number 129 Pasteur Street.
The trial agency sentenced Phan Van Anh Vu to 15 years in prison for the crime of “abusing positions and powers while performing official duties”. As for the civil part, the court decided to recover 7 real estate to hand over to the competent authority.
