Huge fire in Berdyansk port in southeastern Ukraine, Kiev claims to have sunk a Russian ship
Media and a senior adviser to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine said that a seaport in Berdyansk, a city in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast region, in the southeastern part of the country, is on fire.
Berdyansk is located nearly 80km west of the strategic city of Mariupol in eastern Ukraine. The Russian military has taken control of Berdyansk and used the city’s seaport as a delivery point for reinforcements for their forces fighting in the neighboring country.
Anton Gerashchenko, a senior adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, posted on his personal Telegram page a photo showing black smoke billowing from the port of Berdyansk on March 24.
