Malaysian tourism expects to reopen

Malaysian tourism officials estimate that the reopening in April will help attract about 2 million foreign tourists to Malaysia in 2022, bringing in revenue worth 1.6 billion USD. This will be a significant boost to the economy as a whole, as statistics show that in 2019, before the pandemic broke out, the tourism industry accounted for nearly 16% of Malaysia’s GDP.
