Morocco and Israel sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of aviation

According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in North Africa, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) within the framework of the visit to Rabat of IAI Chairman, former Israeli Defense Minister, Mr. Amir Peretz.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Peretz emphasized that this agreement is considered a further step in the new partnership between IAI – Israel’s largest state-owned aviation group – and the aviation industry. and the universe in Morocco.

For his part, IAI CEO Boaz Levy said the agreement will help promote joint projects and trade in the aviation industry.

This “strategic partnership” lays the groundwork for cooperation in technology as well as the construction of a research, development and engineering center in Morocco.

In addition, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Ryad Mezzour, emphasized that the relationship will contribute to meeting Morocco’s national priorities in terms of training, employment and innovation.

Currently, Israel is one of the world’s leading exporters of armed drones. Israel and Morocco normalized relations in December 2020 within the framework of the normalization process between this Jewish state and a number of Arab countries. Since then, a number of Israeli ministers have visited Morocco, signing cooperation agreements in the fields of technology, security, military and economy.
