The American Dream was first built by the famous car tuner Jay Ohrberg in 1986 in Burbank, California with a length of 18.28 m, the prototype was the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado. Some time later the car was upgraded to 30.5 m. .

After a period of frequent use in many important events, the car was left in a warehouse in New Jersey. All machinery and equipment on vehicles are rusty, badly damaged and sold in eBay.

In 2019, Michael Dezel, owner of the Dezerland amusement park, purchased the American Dream for an undisclosed price and moved to Florida for restoration. Spending more than 250,000 USD on transportation, materials and labor, on March 1st, the official car glided with a length of 30.54 m, an increase of 4 cm compared to the original.

Thus, the American Dream broke its own Guinness record as the longest car in 1986.

With too great a length, the limousine is almost impossible to move on the road, and the owner is also aiming for display purposes. Currently the car appears in a museum in Florida for visitors.
