Thanh Chung is suspended, not with the Vietnamese team against Japan

Thanh Chung fouled on an Oman player and received a yellow card from referee Hanna Hattab. The Oman team was awarded a free kick on the right wing but could not create a dangerous situation in front of the Vietnamese goal.

With this yellow card, Thanh Chung will be suspended for the next match of the Vietnamese team in the 3rd qualifying round World Cup 2022 due to receiving two yellow cards. Before that, Chung had to receive a yellow card in the match Vietnam lost to Saudi Arabia 0-1 on November 16, 2021 at My Dinh Stadium.

Thanh Chung can’t be together Vietnam team against Japan on March 29 at home. Currently, Coach Park cannot make a decision whether to let him stay at home or still bring him to Japan to practice with the team.

Currently, the Vietnamese team only has enough 23 players to go to Japan. Due to difficult visa procedures, the team could not add more players. When going to Japan, the Vietnamese team will add goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.
