The black box found yesterday afternoon from the crashed China Eastern Airlines plane has been identified as the pilot’s cockpit voice recorder. This is information from a representative of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

This black box was found about 20 meters from the main scene of the accident. On Monday, a Boeing 737 operated by China Eastern Airlines, en route to the city of Guangzhou, lost contact and crashed in a mountainous area in Guangxi province.

At the time of the accident, there were 132 passengers and crew on the plane. No survivors have been found in the crash yet.

Mr. Zhu Tao – Civil Aviation Administration of China said: “We have sent the black box to a specialized agency in Beijing for processing. Downloading and decoding the data will take some time, the process may be If the internal memory is damaged, investigators are continuing to find the remaining black box, which contains flight data to help us have a complete view and understand what happened.”
