Although life is hard, earning rice every day, Mr. Ly Tuong Chi (Hunan, China) still saves money to raise his wife’s 3 stepdaughters to study well.

Mr. Ly Tuong Chi living in Hunan (China) is a shining example that many people admire. In early February, he was just awarded the Hunan Kind People Award by the provincial government.

This man has diligently raised his wife’s 3 children without worrying about hard work, helping them study to their destination.

Mr. Ly Tuong Chi 62 years old married Mrs. Ly Thuy Anh in 1993 after the first wife died of illness. After getting married, Mrs. Ly took her youngest daughter to live with her while her 2 eldest daughters lived with her biological father. Mr. Ly has 3 children with his first wife and is taking care of his brother who is mentally disabled and deaf and dumb.

A few years later, seeing that his two stepdaughters were not living well with his biological father, often starving, he told Mrs. Ly to take the children home to live with him.

But unfortunately, Ms. Ly later suffered from rheumatism and lost the ability to do manual labor. Mr. Ly alone has to shoulder everything in the house, raising 9 mouths by farming and raising pigs.

Life was so hard, but he never gave up on sending his children to school. He insisted on paying for his wife’s 3 stepdaughters even though neighbors told him to drop them out because it was too hard.

“I believe that knowledge will change a person’s life and I attach great importance to the education of my children. I have told my children that as long as they are accepted into the school, I will give all my best to take care of them. for the children to study”, Mr. Ly shared.

He lived frugally, frugally to take care of all his children and family.

“In my memory, no matter how poor our family is, as long as our children say they have to buy books and stationery, my father will immediately give money. But he has never bought any new clothes. for me”, Mrs. Ly’s eldest daughter confided.

After all, Ms. Li’s 3 stepdaughters have entered China’s top prestigious university. When they planned to continue their studies to graduate school, Mrs. Ly protested because she was worried that her husband would work hard and not deserve it. However, Mr. Lee is very supportive of his children’s continued education.

The eldest daughter has obtained a master’s degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is working as a civil servant. The second daughter graduated with a PhD, is a software engineer while the youngest daughter is a high school teacher after graduating with a master’s degree from Beijing Normal University.

Ms. Ly’s daughter shared, before she and the children were adopted by her stepfather, they were bullied by children in the village because of their father’s neglect. Moreover, that father beat his children after losing a gamble.

“If do not have love of our stepfather, we certainly became children with hearts filled with hatred. Dad’s love not only cures my heart but also makes me feel happy and grateful,” she said.

She also said that her stepfather had never criticized her and her siblings, nor had she ever complained about them. “Dad’s optimism and perseverance influenced us. Without him, we wouldn’t have grown up properly, let alone go to university, graduate school and get where we are now. now,” she confided.
