The US exempts taxes on 352 items imported from China

These items were first imposed by the US in 2018 under the administration of former US President Donald Trump when trade tensions between the US and China escalated.

Among the 352 items that have been restored to tax exemptions are a variety of manufacturing and consumer goods components, from TV screen components to backpacks, bicycles, pillows…

The decision was made in the context that the US – the world’s leading economy, is facing a wave of record high inflation.

Businesses and congressmen from both Democrats and Republicans are pressuring the administration of President Joe Biden to ease the burden of tariffs.
