Tragedy was wrongly assigned and the search for a mother with a sad ending

The woman tries to find her mother with the hope of a happy reunion, but the results are not what she expected.

Born in 1963, at Queen Victoria Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, from an early age, Penny Mackieson knew she was an adopted child.

The adoptive parents gave all their love, creating a close and warm atmosphere for Penny. However, she always wanted to find her biological mother and raised the hope that one day she could reunite with her relatives.

In 1997, after losing two newly born twins, overcoming extreme pain, Penny urged herself to try to find her biological mother. To make this process go smoothly, she contacted the adoption support network in Melbourne for help.

Through the application, the adoption network in Melbourne contacted a woman believed to be her biological mother.

Without a DNA test, Penny thought a happy ending had come to her, but life was full of ironies. The woman who is said to be the mother has worked with Penny incessantly to heal and build a mother-child relationship and motherly love after many years of separation.

Finding her mother, but Penny’s heart is still not at peace. Because, her image does not look like anyone in the house. Instinct told her something wasn’t right, so Penny took an ancestry DNA test. The results showed that she has 70% of Greek origin, no Irish-English-Welsh ancestry.

Wanting to clarify the truth, Penny suggested that the woman who claimed to be her mother also undergo a DNA test. Test results like “lightning across the ear”, she and her mother were determined to be not related by blood.

Thanks to the efforts of the adoption network. Penny also found that her biological mother was of Greek descent and the DNA results confirmed a blood relationship. On the day she was born, another woman gave birth to a baby, possibly due to negligence leading to the wrong delivery.

However, the moment of reunion filled with tears was not as imagined. The birth mother is happy to know that her daughter is still healthy and has a good life, but she does not want to see her again.

Even so, Penny still plans to visit the place where her mother has lived for decades. Not seeing her mother again made Penny very sad. However, she also does not want her mother’s health to be affected due to psychological problems caused by this story.

After the 15-minute trial took place in Victoria (Australia), the search for her mother and relatives ended with a somewhat comforting ending. Penny was allowed to correct her birth certificate, which included the Greek mother’s name.

“I feel a great comfort. It feels like the first day of a new chapter in my life. I feel more optimistic and free when I am myself,” Penny said.
