VN-Index lost 1,500 points

Large-cap codes pulled the index below the reference level. In the VN30 stock basket, there were 21 losers and only 7 gainers. Strong losers such as: VHM down 1.9%, GVR down 1.4%, NVL down 1.2%. Besides, VNM, MSN, MWG, FPT, BVH… are all in the red.

Banking stocks only had 5 gainers, 1 stood at reference. All the remaining 21 codes are on the bearish side. In which, NVB dropped the most by 3.5%, followed by EIB (-1.9%), VCB (-1.6%), PGB (-1.6%)…

Similarly, stocks of securities, real estate, and steel sectors were also in the red.

On the other side, green spread in oil and gas codes. BSR, OIL, POS, PVB, PVC, PVS all increased in price.

In seafood stocks, ABT was the only code that dropped in price. AMM, ACL, ANV, CMX, FMC, SJ1, VHC, VNH codes were in the green.

Chemical and fertilizer stocks continued to gain momentum. AAA, DTT, GER, HII, NHH, TNC hit the limit. Fertilizer stocks such as: DPM, DCM, BFC… still maintained their uptrend.

In today’s session (March 24), foreign investors returned to net selling after 3 consecutive net buying sessions. Specifically, this group net sold 116.42 billion dong on HOSE and 16.06 billion dong on HNX; while only net buying more than 400 million dong on UPCOM. The stocks that were sold the most in the market were DXG, VNM, HPG, and VND.

Closing the trading session on March 24, VN-Index down 4.08 points to 1,498.26 points. Trading volume reached nearly 785 million shares, equivalent to more than 24,833.5 billion dong. The whole floor had 222 stocks of increasing price, 228 stocks of decreasing and 51 stocks of standing still.

On the HNX, HNX-Index increased by 0.7 points to 4,62.8 points. Trading volume reached more than 122.8 million units, equivalent to nearly 4,051 billion VND. The whole floor had 126 stocks of gaining, 144 stocks of decreasing and 58 stocks of standing still.

UPCOM-Index increased 0.69 points to 117.27 points. Trading volume reached more than 68 million units, equivalent to nearly 1,529 billion dong. The whole floor had 195 stocks of gaining, 148 stocks of decreasing and 83 stocks of standing still.
