What is the 2022 regional minimum wage in Hanoi?

The minimum wage is the lowest level as a basis for enterprises and employees to negotiate and pay wages.

Previously, Decree 157/2018/ND-CP stipulating the regional minimum wages for employees working under labor contracts has determined the regional minimum wage. Accordingly, based on 3 criteria including: minimum needs of employees and their families; social and economic conditions; market wages, will be the basis for adjusting the minimum wage. However, from January 1, 2020, this Decree has expired.

At present, the regional minimum wage is determined according to the provisions of Decree No. 90/2019/ND-CP and the Labor Code 2019 which took effect from January 1, 2021. Accordingly, in Clause 3, Article 91 of the Labor Code 2019, the minimum wage will be determined based on 7 criteria including: Minimum living standards of employees and their families; the correlation between the minimum wage and the market wage; consumer price index, economic growth rate; labor supply and demand relationships; employment and unemployment; labor productivity; the company’s ability to pay.

According to the provisions of Decree 90/2019/ND-CP, Regional minimum wage in 2022 in Hanoi as follows:

Region 1 includes Son Tay town and the following districts: Ba Dinh, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Dong Da, Ha Dong, Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Hoang Mai, Long Bien, Nam Tu Liem, Tay Ho and Thanh Xuan ; districts include: Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Soc Son, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Hoai Duc, Thach That, Quoc Oai, Thanh Oai, Me Linh, and Chuong My.

The minimum wage in region 1 is currently being applied at VND 4,420,000/month.

Region 2 includes districts: Ba Vi, Dan Phuong, Phu Xuyen, Phuc Tho, Ung Hoa, and My Duc. The minimum wage in Region 2 is currently being applied at 3,920,000 VND.
