2.7 million vehicles with non-stop toll cards

From the beginning of 2022 until now, new service providers have added tags to about 200,000 vehicles.

Directorate for Roads of Vietnam requested service providers to arrange card stamping points in 63 provinces and cities, creating convenience for people to paste cards, minimizing the occurrence of errors during system operation.

Services such as depositing money into traffic accounts have had many conveniences, including a variety of recharge channels via e-wallets and banks. Up to the present time, the whole country has 112 toll stations installed with non-stop toll collection system.

According to traffic experts, to attract people to tag service providers, it is necessary to have promotional policies. For example, vehicle owners who use the service with a large amount of money in a month will receive a discount or additional additional costs.

“The state can choose a number of routes with high traffic volume and announce to the people that it will only collect tolls without stopping, as is about to be implemented in Hanoi. Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway. At that time, the vehicle owner who wants to go will be forced to stick a card,” a traffic expert suggested.

Previously, the Prime Minister had sent a telegram requesting ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, chairmen of People’s Committees of provinces and cities to direct the stamping of identification cards for all vehicles and cars under their management. of agencies and units to use the ETC toll collection service, not using the manual toll collection form from June 1, 2022.

Previously, at a meeting with the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh also requested that by June 2022, 90% of vehicles would have ETC tags.
