Located in the heart of the Zabarwan Mountains overlooking Srinagar’s famous Dal Lake, the tulip garden is spread over an area of ​​​​nearly 30 hectares.

This is a garden of ultimate beauty and poetic scenery like in a fairy tale. In the past, this place was originally an orchard, but since Kashmir’s economy is based on tourism, the idea of ​​​​turning the orchard into a flower garden has become a reality.

The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim of promoting floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. The garden is built on a sloping terraced ground consisting of seven steps.

Reopening after a long time because of the epidemic, the flower garden has attracted thousands of locals and tourists from all over the world to come to see the beautiful flowers with their own eyes.

The tulip roads stretch with more than a million flowers racing to bloom. Tulips are imported from the Netherlands and grow very well in the cultivated land of Kashmir.

The quality of the soil here ensures that the annual number of festive tulips reaches at least one million.

Khadija, a tourist, said: “I was lucky to visit the flower garden when it opened. India has its own tulip garden, this is a place everyone should visit once to see it with their own eyes.”

During the festival season, Asia’s largest tulip garden will open within 1 month, about 150,000 lights will light up the garden so that visitors can comfortably admire at night.

The Tulip Festival is an annual celebration that aims to showcase a variety of flowers in the garden as part of Jammu and Kashmir’s efforts to attract tourists. The festival is usually held in early spring in the Kashmir valley.

In addition to tulips, people grow many other flowers such as hyacinths, daffodils and ranunculus.
