Apps that steal your Facebook account you should delete immediately-Information Technology

Recently, security researchers at Pradeo have discovered a malicious application, specializing in stealing users’ Facebook accounts.

Specifically, the Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools malware will masquerade as a funny photo editing tool. Once installed, they will ask users to log into Facebook to start editing photos, if you do, the username and password will be immediately collected.

Despite its playful interface, Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools contains the Facestealer malware. Currently this app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times on Google Play.

After receiving Pradeo’s report, Google immediately removed the app from Google Play. However, they will still exist on the phone if you have missed the previous setting.

To limit the loss of your Facebook account, go to Settings – Apps, find the Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools application, then click Uninstall to uninstall. Finally, users should also change their Facebook password and enable 2-factor security to ensure safety.

According to the researchers, Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools is connected to a domain name registered in Russia. This domain has been associated with many malicious mobile apps over the years.
