As the breadwinner of the family since the age of 22, Hien Ho herself is a person who often buys clothes, furniture, and phones for everyone in the house. Hien Ho said that she is aware that she earns more money, so she stands to worry about her loved ones.

Revealing about her childhood in the mountains of the Central Highlands, Hien Ho said, her family has always lived with coffee farming.

When her father was alive, she used to go to the forest to stay with him. From the age of one to five and a half years old, she lived in the forest, did not attend kindergarten. “Hien sat watching, watching coffee with the dogs, while his father went out to help his mother. In the afternoon, Hien stayed in the field alone. Hien played with friends like me, and then did not like going out of the house to go to school, wanted to stay inside. That’s it,” the singer said.

Life in the forest also made Hien Ho encounter many dangers. A little older, she was nearly bitten by a snake while gleaning coffee to pay for her school fees.

“The climax was one day, Hien went to collect coffee to pay for school (Hien gathered and brought it to his mother, she sold as much weight as she could to buy clothes for Hien, if she had enough, she would pay for school). Seeing a viper hanging on a branch, maybe a few pickers were still missing, stripped the branch and saw that the snake was about to bite, Hien was able to run away.

Another time, she had a bullfrog clinging to her neck and thought she couldn’t breathe, so she quickly called her mother to remove it.

Later, for the sake of making a living, her brothers and sisters had to disperse to work in four countries. After finishing secondary school, Hien Ho decided not to attend grade 10 at the village school but transferred to the Intermediate School of Culture and Arts in Buon Ma Thuot city.

To cover life and study, Hien Ho works in the tea room during the day, and attends cultural studies at night. The owner of the song “Then the lover turns into a stranger” used to do enough jobs to earn a living before becoming a singer. Her passion for music also grew in her from this point on.

Hien Ho said she had few friends, later when she became a singer, after performing, she often went home, not with everyone.
