And with the high-end market gap left by Huawei, Apple immediately took over, especially in China and Western Europe. According to the report, other companies trying to replace Huawei are Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi.

Apple has not released sales figures for many years now, so the data used for the research comes from Counterpoint’s own sources. Accordingly, in 2021, Apple will reach 60% of the market share in the high-end segment for the first time since 2017. This may also be due to the delayed launch of iPhone 12 because of the pandemic and their sales have been pushed to 2021.

According to the research firm, Apple is in the best position to gain market share from Huawei in the near future. Overall, the Cupertino-based company is set to grow even further, driving further growth for the premium market itself in the future.

However, it is not only Apple that is the market leader. Analyst Varun Mishra emphasized that the future launch of foldable phones with lower prices will also drive growth in the high-end market. Samsung proved foldable phones are a segment worth considering.

On the other hand, “Apple defect” is expected to launch a foldable iPhone in 2024.

Smartphone sales of Samsung, Oppo and Vivo are also increasing
