Laos begins to administer the 4th dose of COVID-19 vaccine

This is the dose that will be given to people who have had their third dose (booster) 3 months or more before. Priority groups will be ranked in order: frontline workers, people over 60 years old and those with underlying medical conditions.

The announcement also said that two vaccines for the booster dose (dose 3 and 4 ) are vaccines from AstraZeneca and Pfizer. The Lao Ministry of Health aims to complete booster shots for people in March and April, before the vaccine is overdue.

People who have been infected with COVID-19 can receive the first, second, or booster shot (3rd dose) 2 months after being cured, depending on the individual’s injection schedule.

Regarding the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Lao Ministry of Health on March 25 said that in the past 24 hours, the country recorded 2,212 cases, a decrease of 707 cases compared to the previous day. Up to now, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Laos is 164,078.
